Tyrone (Ty) Snowden Woods Sr., Senior Chief Special Operator Retired;
Perished while defending the US Diplomatic post and CIA annex in Benghazi, Libya. He was 41 years old.
The bravery of Tyrone Woods and his SEAL teammate Glen Doherty, saved the lives of 32 staff members when they took up arms against an overwhelming force. Ty, without request led his small security detail to respond to over 120 heavily armed insurgents conducting a well-orchestrated attack with the intention of kidnapping US Ambassador Chris Stevens. While Ambassador Stevens and his communications director Shawn Smith were killed in the action dozens of Americans were saved solely because of the leadership and selfless sacrifice of Ty Woods and Glen Doherty.
Pacific Tugboat Service is proud to immortalize Senior Chief, Special Operator (SEAL) Ty Woods by naming the pride of our Crew boat fleet after him.
