Pacific Dredge & Construction helped revive an entire community with our hydraulic and mechanical dredging project on the Petaluma River. A once-vibrant river city had dried up as years of mud and silt buildup made the waterway impassable for boats. PDC's multi-million dollar contract through the United States Army Corps of Engineers cleared the way for safe passage through the river and revitalized business on the waterway and throughout the area.
Pacific Tugboat Service (PTS) provided their tugboat “S. Bass” to tow PDC’s 2,000 cu yds capacity scows to the in bay disposal site (SF-10) located in San Pablo Bay. PTS supplied truckable tug “Cadet” and assist tug “Admiral” as well.
Reaches 6, 7 and 8 were mechanically dredged with our PDC 180 barge, crawler crane Manitowoc 4600, and 17 cu yd environmental clamshell bucket. Approximately 57,000 cu yds was dredged and disposed of in-bay at the approved disposal site (SF-10) in San Pablo Bay.
